Wedding Reception : Siddiq & Farahin

Rumah Alumni UTM, Skudai.

Congratulations to the newly wed Siddiq and Farahin. Alhamdulillah. Mabrook my friend! So I was asked by Siddiq's mother to become their photographer, Ustazah Norizah, and I did. Alhamdulillah. During the whole session of my photography, many of my former school teacher came, and met me, and they all asked me the same question - "when's your turn to wed?" so I just smiled. keke. InsyaAllah. Anyway, here are the several photos that I took. ^^,

Also, I'd like to congratulate the other graduates too for their achievement.  So, here are some pictures of me during my convocation and also with my cousin Afi. ^^,

RISM - Annual Dinner 2012

Pulai Spring Resort, Skudai.

This was my first time coming to annual dinner organized by the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). Apparently, I just started working with JB Bergabung, a Quantity Surveying firm. It was also my first time having some social activities with JBB staffs. This was a great opportunity to get along / get to know with them. I met some of my old friends and lecturers during the event too. I haven't been updating any posts lately, so here is the latest one. Have a look at the photos I have taken. ^^,

Wedding Reception : Bushra & Izzat

Royal Johor Golf Country Club, Johor Bahru.

This was the following wedding job after Ahnaf & Ain wedding reception. Alhamdulillah. Thanks to Ezzati as she was the one who recommended me to Bushra. Plus, I got to meet a new friend and his name was Faiz. It was a pleasure being an official photographer together with him. Honestly, I don't know much about Bushra but I got to know that we went to the same elementary school back then. Anyway, congratulations to Bushra & Izzat. May Allah bless you guys. So, here are some official photos. ^^,

Jamuan Raya & Reunion PaLS 2012

Kompleks Ikram Negeri Johor, Johor.

This event was the first attempt to organize a reunion at a large scale. Normally, a reunion is organized according to separate batches, but this one, Jamuan Raya & Reunion PaLS 2012 event gathered together all the graduate students of SMIH from all batches. Alhamdulillah, it was a successful one. All thanks to Kak Amira as she was the head coordinator, and also to those who participated the event. Alright, here are the photos. ^^,

Wedding Reception : Ahnaf & Ain

Johor Bahru, Johor.

First and foremost, I'd like to congratulate Ahnaf and Ain as they are now bonded together creating a brand new family and I'd like to wish them both the best of luck and may Allah prosper them throughout their life together insyaALLAH. May the two of you be blessed. Alhamdulillah, this was one of the tiredest wedding job I've ever done but it was a great experience for me. The special thing was, the day of their wedding ceremony actually fell on my birthday (25/08)! Haha! So here are some official photos of Ahnaf and Ain on their most memorable day. ^^,

P/s : Thank you Ghazi and Nadia for assisting me during the outdoor sessions.

Aidilfitri 2012 - Visits

Shah Alam + Klang + Banting, Selangor Darul Ehsan.

After taking pictures for a family portrait, my family and I have decided to travel to Shah Alam that afternoon. We planned to go there on the first day of Eid because there would be not many cars traveling on the highways and Alhamdulillah, the traffic conditions were smooth. So, my family and I continued our Eid celebration with families and friends who live around Selangor. We've visited several houses, and since it's a special occasion, I've prepared to snap some shots during the stay. So, here are the pictures. ^^,

Happy Eid Mubarak to all Muslim brothers and sisters around the world! Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir Batin! Isn't it exciting? Yeah, for most of us. August 12

Jusco, Taman Universiti.

Hey2, Happy Birthday Ayah! May Allah Bless You! This post is specially dedicated to my beloved father. His birthday was on the 12th of August. So we bought slices of cake from Secrete Recipe and ate them at KFC. Haha! I took some pictures of my parents celebrating. So here they are. Love You Ayah! ^^,

Malam Badar 2012

Sek. Men. Islam Hidayah, Kg. Sinaran Baru, Senai.

I never knew that I'd be an official photographer for an event organized by my former school. Alhamdulillah, I am very thankful. All thanks to Pakcik Hishamuddin as he was the one who offered me to be a part of the management team. It was very tiring that day, walking around the school under the scorching hot sun, snapping photos of people. Fuh. Like as if I was the only one working huh? haha. Everybody else were also pretty tired too, but things need to be done soon so they all keep on working. Okay, so here are the official photos for Malam Badar 2012. Enjoy. ^^,

Relief

Sayam Restaurant, Stulang Laut.

Wow, it has been more than a month since the last post I shared on my blog. That's because I was so busy completing and finalizing my master's project (or thesis). Alhamdulillah, my thesis now is finally complete and boy, what a big relief. All those times spent on finishing the thesis had really paid off. I felt satisfied. Alhamdulillah, I have completed my master's degree! It was a call for a celebration, so my friends and I went out and had dinner together at Sayam Restaurant. And yes, I brought my camera along and so here are the pictures taken. ^^,

P/s : I'd like to congratulate Nadia, Aqlima and Zafirah as they too have completed their master's degree. We'll meet again on graduation day!

Qasih '12 - BBQ Night

B12, FAB, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Skudai).

The current QS-Bina committee has organized a lot of events and this was one of the new events that I've ever been to. I'd like to congratulate to all those who participated and contributed in making this event a successful one. From what I know, this program was organized to gather all those super duper seniors from our past generations to get along back together and introduced them to the current juniors. It was a three day program, and this BBQ Night was a part of the event that was held. With all the food that was provided, I have to say, that night was a blast. Haha! Yeah, anyway, I took some shots so take a look. Enjoy. ^^,

1st Rejab

Restoran Sayam, Stulang, Johor.

Alhamdulillah. My friends and I were welcoming the 1st day of Rejab by fasting together. That night, we had planned to break the fast together, at a place somewhere my friends haven't been yet. It has been a while since the last time we break fast with a whole bunch of friends - that was when we were undergrad students. Now that we are all in our separate ways, this was one of those opportunities that we could not miss to gather. Soon Ramadhan will arrive and we all can't wait to celebrate it. InsyaALLAH. As usual, I brought my camera along and took some shots. So here they are. Enjoy. ^^,

Grads 12'

Grand Bluewave Hotel, Johor Bahru.

Honestly, at first I didn't really wanna come to this annual pre-graduation dinner. But after I heard all the hardships in handling and organizing that this particular person went through, I felt kinda pity. So, as a form of my support, I made up my mind to come. Usually, to make proper plannings & preparations for a dinner like this need lots of time. Unfortunately, there were some issues involved and this particular one had two weeks of planning and preparation. Such a short time right? But Alhamdulillah, it went well even though there were no formalities involved during the event. Yes we all did have a blast. Credit to the juniors of course - well done! So here are my shots. Enjoy. ^^,

UTM's Convocation Ceremony

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor.

First and foremost, I'd like to congratulate to all my fellow (now former) classmates as they all have successfully graduated in Masters of Asset and Facilities Management. Alhamdulillah. My turn awaits insyaALLAH. My job in taking photos of them does not end during the pre-graduation photo shoot, it lasted till the official ceremony - UTM's 58th Convocation Ceremony. It was a very exciting day. Families and friends gathered around celebrating for those who have graduated on that day. So, here are my shots that I took. Enjoy. ^^,

Pre-Graduation Photo shoot

Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim, Johor Bahru.

These are my former classmates. They graduated earlier than me. I had some issue with my Masters Project, so that was basically why I didn't graduate together with them. This was a pre-convocation photoshoot, taken at two different locations; Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim JB and Hutan Bandar JB.  They came all the way from KL and were very excited for the upcoming convocation ceremony (which was on 7th of May). Had a sweating-experience shooting them. Haha! So, here are the shots that I took. Enjoy. ^^,

Friendly Badminton Tournament

Dewanraya Taman Universiti, Skudai, Johor.

This friendly badminton tournament was organized by HALUAN Siswa UTM (if not mistaken). I had the opportunity to take part in the tournament even though I wasn't a member of the HALUAN group. Why, you asked? Well, I'm a close friend to Azreen (a.k.a Roy) and initially he did insisted me to participate but I politely said no and made some lame excuses. But then Abbas urged me to participate and be his partner. I tried resisting his offer, but in the end I thought to myself "what the heck, I might as well try". And Alhamdulillah, my partner and I managed to win and moved to the quarter finals. Eventually, we lost a match, but it was totally a great game. I took some shots during the tournament; not much but here they are. Enjoy. ^^,

Delegation Trip UTM-UM

Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya.

Alhamdulillah. I had an amazing time joining this program. This is a collaboration program between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Malaya which was organized under Students-QS Association. I was actually invited to give a speech during the program. And so I came, gave my speech, though I wasn't prepared to give a speech in a short period of time. So my mind wasn't straight enough due to the strict time limitation. Initially, I was given 1 hour and half, but then it turns out to be 30 minutes - that's basically why. Overall, I thought I did well but not so great. So, I'm sorry to all of you listeners. Meanwhile, during my stay there, I took some shots. I soon realized that my battery was about to ran out of juice. Darn it. I was able to get these shots. So, enjoy. ^^,

Practicing Fill Flash Technique

In My Own Room, Johor.

I've read and watched about the creative technique that we could do with our speedlight / flashgun. So I tried to apply them and blend with my own creativity. I made myself a mini studio with a couple sheets of paper and I placed my little model car in it, then did some setups, and off I shoot. It's not that perfect as I did face some troubles. But it doesn't matter. I took a couple of shots and I chose this one to share. ^^

Mak Usu & Family

Klang, Selangor.

Last weekend, my parents and I went to visit Mak Usu's family. As we did not know the route to her house, my cousin Hazim joined us to assist. Last Friday, the Klang district had a watery experience when it flooded due to non-stop raining. Mak Usu's family were one of the many victims involved. So we paid her a visit - just to see if she and her family was okay, safe. Alhamdulillah, they were all in good and perfect condition. I shot some photos of them and here they are. Enjoy guys. ^^,

P/s: Mak Usu just gave birth to a new born baby. Congratulations!

Fitriyana's E-Day

Desaru, Johor.

Alhamdulillah, congratulations to Fitriyana and Shahril (sorry if I spelled wrong). This was their engagement ceremony and alhamdulillah all went well as planned. Fitriyana appointed me to be her photographer on that day and so I came, snap lots of pictures before, during and after the event. Thankfully, I came early and managed to not get myself lost like the last time (click here). haha. I pray the best for both of you and may Allah bless the two of you with happiness and prosperity, insyaALLAH. So, here are some of the pictures that I want to share. Enjoy guys. ^^,

Arabian Tastes

Seksyen 20, Shah Alam.

This was one big feast that my family and I had. We were very hungry that night so we went out searching for something to eat. There was this newly-opened Arabian Restaurant near by our new apartment. So we tried there. The place was clean and the interior deco looks very much simple. It also had a nice atmosphere too. Since I ordered something simple, I knew that I had to help my parents finish up their rice. All and all, the food was great. Alhamdulillah. So here are the shoots that I captured. Enjoy. ^^

Animals

Skudai, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Just to share some pictures of a stray cat and a kitten that lives at the back of my house. You guys like cats? I surely do. They're adorable and cuddly and cute. But these are stray, so I have to be careful with them as I do not want to get infected with anything and fall ill. So, here are the shots that I took. Enjoy. ^^,

Birthday Celebration

Jusco Taman Universiti, Johor.

This birthday celebration was for my beloved mum. Her birthday was on the 5th of March. Alhamdulillah. Even though it's already past, I still wanna say: Happy 50th Birthday Ibu! Thank you for everything that you've done for me. Thank you for being there when I needed the most. Thank you for going through all the things together with me. I will and always do, pray for your prosperous life, insyaALLAH. I pray that Allah provide you the best of health. As your one-and-only son, I really wanna say that I'm sorry for all the wrong things that I've done. I admit that sometimes - well most of the time maybe - I can be a big pain in the ass, but I guess that's just the way I am to make things a little bit 'happening' at home. hehe. So, again, I'm sorry for everything ibu. I will always love you ibu. Happy Birthday Ibu! ^^,

Shah Alam

Seksyen 20, Shah Alam.

Alhamdulillah, after the long wait, our new home has finally constructed and the past weekend was our first time living in our new home. Our new home did not have much of anything. There were no lights, no fans - but there was one air-conditioner. The 'unit' (as it is called - because we live in a service apartment) came with it when it was purchased. So alternatively, we used the natural lighting and ventilation. We did brought some stuff  for our comfort  from JB while staying in the new home (e.g. pillows, foods, mattresses). We basically had to get use of the surrounding and the life style living in Shah Alam. It'll take time, but I'm sure we'll get through. I did took some pictures, not much, but here they are. ^^,

Mini Rehlah

Gunung Pulai, Skudai, Johor.

Yes, yet another day hanging out with former school friends. It was a blast. We all had a great time together. This was yet the biggest informal gathering ever - yeah because everyone is busy with stuffs and many of us live far away. There were seven of us - Me, Arif, Madlong, Taufik, Rasyid, Iqbal and Acapmin - who joined the gathering. We traveled to G. Pulai with three cars - supposedly two but Iqbal came late, so he drove alone to get there. Alhamdulillah, all went well as planned. After that, we all drove to Jusco Bukit Indah to eat at Nando's. It was a satisfying feast - but I wasn't though. Haha. Alright, here are the pictures that I took. Enjoy. ^^,

10 Years

Suri Puteri, Shah Alam.

Alhamdulillah, our new home has completely constructed after years of delay. My parents and I were quite happy with the new home. However, there were some issues that need to be resolved. I'm not really sure if it really was 10 years - because that guy in yellow t-shirt said we bought the house in 2002 - to me it was more of like 8 years because I thought the house was bought in 2004. (I don't really like that guy anyway. pfft~) Well, what the heck, we got the house! So here are the pictures that I took. ^^,

Embarrassing Day

Pulai Utama, Skudai, Johor.

Ok, yesterday was an embarrassing day. I don't know if I could shorten up the story in this post. Ok, here goes.

That afternoon, I received a text from Taufik, inviting me to join him with Mad Long, Afif and Acapmin to visit Hafizul Amin at his house in Kulai. It was a last minute call that Taufik received from Amin, so I managed myself to join them and we all gathered at Surau Annur after zohor prayer. Then off we headed to Kulai in Madlong's car. We stopped by at Petronas Senai to fill up the gas and Acapmin had waited there for us pick him up. During our stop at Petronas, I saw a women in her car and she was about to drove off with her gas cover wide open. I presumed that she must have forgotten to close it, so as she was about to drove off, I hurried over - like literally ran - and closed it for her. I thought I've done the right thing but soon I realized that she was only moving her car to another gas pump machine. GOD I was SO EMBARRASSED! I was ashamed of myself, in front of my friends and all the people there. GOD!

Then, as we moved on heading to Kulai, I calmed myself down even though my friends made some lame jokes about it but I don't mind. Because it was embarrassing yet funny at the same time. haha. Soon we reached Amin's house in Kulai and we noticed that his car wasn't there. We immediately had second thoughts when his father opened the door with strange looks on his face. It was as if his father didn't know that we were coming. So Taufik called Amin, asking him where he was exactly. His answer surprised us all. He was in PULAI, not KULAI. (There was a confusion with it's pronunciation as both seemed to sound about the same.) There it goes again, being embarrassed in front of Amin's father. OH GOD! It was Amin's fault by the way as he didn't mentioned 'Utama' after Pulai. Otherwise we wouldn't have traveled this far. Haha.

So, that was basically it. Haha. And we soon reached our destination. We laughed a lot at Amin's parents-in-law's house, sharing the story of what we've all went through. It was fun visiting him. I took some photos - not much actually. So, here it is. Enjoy. ^^,

P/s : Amin now raises two beautiful baby daughters - Fathehah & Asma'

Saif & Insyirah

Dewan Perdana, Kolej Perdana, UTM (Skudai).

Alhamdulillah. Mabruk. Saif is now married to the girl of his life. I have to admit, his wife is a beauty - just a compliment ok. hehe. This was his second wedding reception - so it was kinda descent. The main one was organized at Jitra, Kedah. So most of us could not attend there due to the high traveling costs.

And the day has come - Saif's Wedding ceremony. Most of my friends came, and we all had a blast. Alhamdulillah. Congratulations to Saif and his family. May Allah bless the two of you together, Saif & Insyirah. So here are the pictures I took. Enjoy guys. ^^,

Warm Welcoming

Stulang, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Ok, starting from this post, I'm gonna make things simple for y'all. I'll just describe tiny bits of the picture, because I know not many of you are fond to read what I typed and just straight ahead clicking the link to view the pictures - right? haha. Well, it's fine with me. ^^,

So, on this post, my friends and I welcomed our long-known friend from Indonesia, Abang Udi (Pak Kasudi). How did we all know him? Well, it's a long story. To make it short - a long time ago we've organized a program to visit Aceh - the program was kinda like a humanitarian aid for tsunami victims, and that's basically how we get to know him. Alright, here are the pictures I took. Enjoy. ^^,

Sukan SMIH 2012

Stadium Larkin, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Salam MaulidurRasul to all my fellow Muslim friends around the world. For this post, I want to share the pictures taken during SMIH (Sekolah Menengah Islam Hidayah) Annual Sports Event. The pictures were taken on the 28th of January, the same date when Ahmad & Hajar had their second wedding reception at Putrajaya. This was the first time that I come to SMIH's sports event organized at a stadium. Alhamdulillah, on that day, it was a cool day. Wasn't sunny, wasn't too warm. The weather was great. I thought it was gonna rain, because it was very cloudy. But I guess it didn't, yet. I mostly used a 50mm prime lens, so most of the pictures taken were close shots. And here they are, enjoy guys. ^^,

Ahmad & Hajar : Marriage

Taman Teratai, Skudai, Johor.

Alhamdulillah. After all this while, Ahmad is now a husband of Hajar. I have to say, it was a very exciting moment. Well, from what I've heard before, they were the most known-about couple during and after school. I didn't know much about them during the school years. But soon after we all entered the higher education institutes, I somehow managed to get some information about these two friends. I didn't believe from what I heard at first. But then there was this one proof that made me believe them. I've got to tell ya this - which I've been it keeping a secret for a long long time - there was this time, during matriculation, Ahmad with some other friends and I hanged out in the mosque. (This was the era where people buy cool technology as a trend - especially mobile phones.) I checked out Ahmad's phone, it was new kind of Nokia - can't remember what kind though. As I was checking it out, somehow I accidentally entered into his saved messages. I was surprised with what I saw. No, it was not anything bad because all those messages were all Islamic. But it was the sender that I was surprised of - all was from Hajar. You know what? I didn't even tell Ahmad about it. haha. As it has been proven to be true, this particular moment has been the most exciting occasion for all members of Sevenians (eh...?). haha.

Al-Hanin Restaurant : With Saif

Larkin, Johor Bahru, Johor.

After being all excited and overwhelmed with the happy news of Ahmad married to Hajar, another happy news arises; Saif will soon be married to the girl he loves. Saif studies at a university in Mesir; as he had returned to Johor Bahru, we were excited to meet him. So we planned to organized a small gathering at Amin's restaurant. We had to go to this restaurant again, as this is the only restaurant that let us stay as long as we'd like. haha. It closes at 11pm, but on that night, it closed at 12. We had great conversations with Saif and had tons of laughter. We surely enjoyed ourselves. ^^,

So, here are the shots taken. ^^,

Al-Hanin Restaurant : First Visit

Larkin, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Al-Hanin Restaurant; I've seen this restaurant before. It was when Arif and I searched for renting houses / apartments around Larkin district. The purpose of the search was to help my uncle to find a place to stay - for three months - as he and his friends will be undergoing an industrial training around here in Larkin. It was this accidental discovery of the restaurant that leads towards other interesting facts about it. The restaurant is owned by a friend of mine, Amin Mokri. I was quite surprised that he now runs a business. He's the manager yo! It has been several months since the opening and everything seemed to run pretty well, Alhamdulillah. The restaurant is based on Arabian theme, so all the type of dishes on the menu are all Arabian foods - there's one western food but still had this Arabian style. It was worth coming to this restaurant as it was designed to be a relaxation spot for customers to enjoy their meals. The food is pure, original Arabian taste - as the chef is specially "imported" from Palestine (if not mistaken). As this was our first visit to the restaurant, we were very delighted to meet Amin. On this particular night, we had a very special guest who had just got married; he is Ahmad (a.k.a Mad Tepet). Basically we were celebrating his marriage. haha. So, we really enjoyed ourselves.^^,

I brought my camera along, so here are the few shots that I took. ^^,

Guys, try coming to this spot, the foods are really tasty. To me, it's worth paying them. ^^,

Nandos

Jusco Tebrau City, Johor.

The plan was to celebrate two of my friends' birthday - which both of them had the same birth date, 26/12. Well, it was supposed to be celebrated two days after 26/12, then it was postponed till three weeks later. So, basically it's a belated birthday celebration. And who are those two friends? They are Nawal and Najlaa. These girls are not twin (duh...). The plan was to hangout with them and eat somewhere. I told them that it'd be my treat since it's their birthday. I had no idea where to bring them so I randomly chose Jusco Tebrau to be headed to. Nawal had this crave for Nandos, and luckily for her that Jusco Tebrau has Nandos, so we all went to eat there. This was the second time I ate at Nandos. Since Nawal knew what sort of dishes that were tasty, she did the choosing and all. Once our orders have arrived, our table were served with tons of food. We all felt very delighted. Then we started eating. Everything tasted very delicious and satisfying. It's no wonder why Nawal chose Nandos. She had chosen the best spot to eat that day. We were all full and satisfied. Would like to come there again and eat some more. Yummy! ^^,

Random Stuffs

Johor Bahru, Johor.

These are just some random pictures that I took - well, only four of them but there are two different stories behind them. So here are the pictures and their short story:

This is my friend's (Taufik) DSLR. I borrowed it for a while just to some shots of my camera. So, the pictures of my camera on Equipment was taken with this. Not bad eh? haha. Taufik bought this camera when he studied at Sheffield, UK. At first I was a bit puzzled with the name given to this Canon, it's called the Rebel T2i (if not mistaken). Never heard of it though, and then Taufik told me that it's called that way in UK but it's actually the same as 550D. Guess the people who owns a Canon knows all about Canon and likewise for Nikonian peeps. Its fun to try out other cameras, it'll challenge your loyalty to the camera you own. haha.

Thank You

Johor Bahru, Johor.

Remember the post that I talked about a friend of mine getting married on a once-in-every-100-years special date? (If you want to review that post again, then click here.) Well, she - along with her husband - gave me a box of chocolates which actually represents their appreciation on capturing their special moment that day. I was surprised. So surprised that I never thought they would repay for what I have done for them voluntarily. It is just my hobby to take pictures, unless if I am appointed to be someone's photographer, then it's business. But this gift, makes me feel like I'm being appreciated for something that I love to do. I am thankful. Gratefully thankful to Alif and Wani for this wonderful gift. Haven't eaten a single chocolate yet though. haha. I am pleased to receive such gift from you two. Alhamdulillah. Thank you so much. May Allah bless your marriage life, insyaALLAH.

So here are the pictures of that box of chocolates. I believe it's homemade. Or maybe ordered? I dunno, but what's important is that I am happy and pleased to receive this gift. Thank you Alif & Wani! ^^,

Practicing Landscape Photography

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai.

I've always been inspired with photos of beautiful landscapes captured by various professional photographers. I really wanted to try out on how to capture such image. Their pictures are absolutely stunning. So I thought, I'd go out and try shoot some landscapes myself. I also brought along my trusted Digital Camera Magazine with me. DCM is absolutely useful. It provides tips that are easy to understand. I brought the 70th issue which had information about how to shoot landscapes.

The things that I learned for landscape photography was that - based on what I read:
  1. It needs careful planning, preparation and patience - find suitable location, do some weather forecasting, wait for the right amount of surrounding light.
  2.  Use a Wide-Angle Lens - helps to get more view into frame.
  3.  Use the Rule of Thirds.
  4.  Locate a foreground interest.
  5.  Use a steady tripod
  6.  Balance the exposure - using the Graduated Natural Density filters.
  7.  Use a narrow aperture and low ISO setting.
So, at the time I was capturing these landscape shots, I simultaneously referred to DCM. Reading them is easy and can be understood well, but putting them into practice, it was kinda difficult for me as I have no experience. It would be wonderful if I had a guru beside me teaching everything about landscape photography.
