Ahmad & Hajar : Marriage

Taman Teratai, Skudai, Johor.

Alhamdulillah. After all this while, Ahmad is now a husband of Hajar. I have to say, it was a very exciting moment. Well, from what I've heard before, they were the most known-about couple during and after school. I didn't know much about them during the school years. But soon after we all entered the higher education institutes, I somehow managed to get some information about these two friends. I didn't believe from what I heard at first. But then there was this one proof that made me believe them. I've got to tell ya this - which I've been it keeping a secret for a long long time - there was this time, during matriculation, Ahmad with some other friends and I hanged out in the mosque. (This was the era where people buy cool technology as a trend - especially mobile phones.) I checked out Ahmad's phone, it was new kind of Nokia - can't remember what kind though. As I was checking it out, somehow I accidentally entered into his saved messages. I was surprised with what I saw. No, it was not anything bad because all those messages were all Islamic. But it was the sender that I was surprised of - all was from Hajar. You know what? I didn't even tell Ahmad about it. haha. As it has been proven to be true, this particular moment has been the most exciting occasion for all members of Sevenians (eh...?). haha.

Al-Hanin Restaurant : With Saif

Larkin, Johor Bahru, Johor.

After being all excited and overwhelmed with the happy news of Ahmad married to Hajar, another happy news arises; Saif will soon be married to the girl he loves. Saif studies at a university in Mesir; as he had returned to Johor Bahru, we were excited to meet him. So we planned to organized a small gathering at Amin's restaurant. We had to go to this restaurant again, as this is the only restaurant that let us stay as long as we'd like. haha. It closes at 11pm, but on that night, it closed at 12. We had great conversations with Saif and had tons of laughter. We surely enjoyed ourselves. ^^,

So, here are the shots taken. ^^,

Al-Hanin Restaurant : First Visit

Larkin, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Al-Hanin Restaurant; I've seen this restaurant before. It was when Arif and I searched for renting houses / apartments around Larkin district. The purpose of the search was to help my uncle to find a place to stay - for three months - as he and his friends will be undergoing an industrial training around here in Larkin. It was this accidental discovery of the restaurant that leads towards other interesting facts about it. The restaurant is owned by a friend of mine, Amin Mokri. I was quite surprised that he now runs a business. He's the manager yo! It has been several months since the opening and everything seemed to run pretty well, Alhamdulillah. The restaurant is based on Arabian theme, so all the type of dishes on the menu are all Arabian foods - there's one western food but still had this Arabian style. It was worth coming to this restaurant as it was designed to be a relaxation spot for customers to enjoy their meals. The food is pure, original Arabian taste - as the chef is specially "imported" from Palestine (if not mistaken). As this was our first visit to the restaurant, we were very delighted to meet Amin. On this particular night, we had a very special guest who had just got married; he is Ahmad (a.k.a Mad Tepet). Basically we were celebrating his marriage. haha. So, we really enjoyed ourselves.^^,

I brought my camera along, so here are the few shots that I took. ^^,

Guys, try coming to this spot, the foods are really tasty. To me, it's worth paying them. ^^,

Nandos

Jusco Tebrau City, Johor.

The plan was to celebrate two of my friends' birthday - which both of them had the same birth date, 26/12. Well, it was supposed to be celebrated two days after 26/12, then it was postponed till three weeks later. So, basically it's a belated birthday celebration. And who are those two friends? They are Nawal and Najlaa. These girls are not twin (duh...). The plan was to hangout with them and eat somewhere. I told them that it'd be my treat since it's their birthday. I had no idea where to bring them so I randomly chose Jusco Tebrau to be headed to. Nawal had this crave for Nandos, and luckily for her that Jusco Tebrau has Nandos, so we all went to eat there. This was the second time I ate at Nandos. Since Nawal knew what sort of dishes that were tasty, she did the choosing and all. Once our orders have arrived, our table were served with tons of food. We all felt very delighted. Then we started eating. Everything tasted very delicious and satisfying. It's no wonder why Nawal chose Nandos. She had chosen the best spot to eat that day. We were all full and satisfied. Would like to come there again and eat some more. Yummy! ^^,

Random Stuffs

Johor Bahru, Johor.

These are just some random pictures that I took - well, only four of them but there are two different stories behind them. So here are the pictures and their short story:

This is my friend's (Taufik) DSLR. I borrowed it for a while just to some shots of my camera. So, the pictures of my camera on Equipment was taken with this. Not bad eh? haha. Taufik bought this camera when he studied at Sheffield, UK. At first I was a bit puzzled with the name given to this Canon, it's called the Rebel T2i (if not mistaken). Never heard of it though, and then Taufik told me that it's called that way in UK but it's actually the same as 550D. Guess the people who owns a Canon knows all about Canon and likewise for Nikonian peeps. Its fun to try out other cameras, it'll challenge your loyalty to the camera you own. haha.

Thank You

Johor Bahru, Johor.

Remember the post that I talked about a friend of mine getting married on a once-in-every-100-years special date? (If you want to review that post again, then click here.) Well, she - along with her husband - gave me a box of chocolates which actually represents their appreciation on capturing their special moment that day. I was surprised. So surprised that I never thought they would repay for what I have done for them voluntarily. It is just my hobby to take pictures, unless if I am appointed to be someone's photographer, then it's business. But this gift, makes me feel like I'm being appreciated for something that I love to do. I am thankful. Gratefully thankful to Alif and Wani for this wonderful gift. Haven't eaten a single chocolate yet though. haha. I am pleased to receive such gift from you two. Alhamdulillah. Thank you so much. May Allah bless your marriage life, insyaALLAH.

So here are the pictures of that box of chocolates. I believe it's homemade. Or maybe ordered? I dunno, but what's important is that I am happy and pleased to receive this gift. Thank you Alif & Wani! ^^,

Practicing Landscape Photography

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai.

I've always been inspired with photos of beautiful landscapes captured by various professional photographers. I really wanted to try out on how to capture such image. Their pictures are absolutely stunning. So I thought, I'd go out and try shoot some landscapes myself. I also brought along my trusted Digital Camera Magazine with me. DCM is absolutely useful. It provides tips that are easy to understand. I brought the 70th issue which had information about how to shoot landscapes.

The things that I learned for landscape photography was that - based on what I read:
  1. It needs careful planning, preparation and patience - find suitable location, do some weather forecasting, wait for the right amount of surrounding light.
  2.  Use a Wide-Angle Lens - helps to get more view into frame.
  3.  Use the Rule of Thirds.
  4.  Locate a foreground interest.
  5.  Use a steady tripod
  6.  Balance the exposure - using the Graduated Natural Density filters.
  7.  Use a narrow aperture and low ISO setting.
So, at the time I was capturing these landscape shots, I simultaneously referred to DCM. Reading them is easy and can be understood well, but putting them into practice, it was kinda difficult for me as I have no experience. It would be wonderful if I had a guru beside me teaching everything about landscape photography.
